Pune: Taking stringent action against the departments that fail to provide the necessary documents and records during the auditing process, the audit department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has announced a fine of Rs 25,000 & strict action against the departments.

Pramod Bhosale, Chief Auditor, PCMC said, ” During an audit within the Municipal Corporation, it has been observed that various departments in the PCMC fail to submit the necessary files, records and documents. This leads to a lot of chaos and confusion. It also hampers the smooth and fair functioning of the PCMC. Thus, after a discussion with Shekhar Singh, PCMC Municipal Commissioner, it is decided that strict action will be taken against such departments and a fine of Rs 25, 000 will be levied.”

As per the information provided by the audit department, there are around 150 listed departments in the PCMC. Though the audit department has sent repeated reminders,  several departments still need to send the required records while conducting an audit. Hence, after the next audit, a detailed report will be sent to the PCMC administration about the number of defaulting departments. After that,  a 15-day time limit will be given to the defaulting departments. Still, if they fail to provide the requirements, then a fine of Rs 25,000 would be imposed.
