PCMC Collects Record ₹526 Crore In Property Tax In First Quarter; Over 4.45 Lakh Taxpayers Avail Rebates
Pimpri, July 1, 2026: The Property Tax Assessment and Collection Department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has achieved a record milestone by collecting ₹526.14 crore in property tax during the first quarter of the 2026–27 financial year. The civic body said this is the highest first-quarter property tax collection in its history.
Out of 7,44,630 registered properties in the city, 4,45,620 property owners paid their taxes within the first three months of the financial year, accounting for nearly 59.84% of all registered properties. Of these, 3,47,564 taxpayers made their payments online and availed themselves of the rebates offered by the civic body.

Mayor Ravi Landge and Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryavanshi thanked citizens for their overwhelming response. They credited the achievement to extensive awareness campaigns, digital payment facilities, SMS notifications, and doorstep distribution of property tax bills through women’s self-help groups.
According to PCMC, the city has residential, commercial, industrial and other categories of properties. Residential properties accounted for the highest number of tax payments, with 3,82,522 property owners paying their dues, followed by 33,793 non-residential, 8,623 mixed-use, 3,075 industrial, 2,591 open land properties and 13 under other categories.
The majority of the revenue was collected through online payments, which contributed ₹407.89 crore. Other payment modes included cash (₹21.47 crore), cheques (₹16.24 crore), demand drafts (₹15.75 crore), and various digital applications (₹10.45 crore).
Among the city’s 18 tax collection zones, Wakad recorded the highest collection at ₹72.87 crore, followed by Thergaon (₹46.71 crore), Kaspate Wasti (₹39.33 crore), Kiwale (₹38.37 crore), Chikhali (₹37.95 crore), Bhosari (₹34.73 crore) and Chinchwad (₹34.47 crore). Other zones also reported significant collections, reflecting strong taxpayer participation across the city.
PCMC officials said the first-quarter collections have shown consistent growth over the past few years, increasing from ₹171 crore in 2021–22 to ₹526 crore in 2026–27.
Mayor Ravi Landge said the civic body’s innovative initiatives and taxpayer awareness campaigns encouraged citizens to pay their taxes early and avail of the available concessions. Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi added that social media campaigns, SMS alerts and outreach programmes played a key role in improving compliance and contributing to the city’s development.
Additional Commissioner Trupti Sandbhor attributed the record collection to timely delivery of tax bills, awareness about rebates and coordinated efforts by the tax collection department. Deputy Commissioner Sachin Pawar said the department had undertaken detailed planning to maximise first-quarter collections and would now focus on recovering dues from major defaulters through attachment proceedings if necessary. He urged property owners with pending dues to clear them promptly to avoid coercive action.
