Pimpri-Chinchwad: Various police stations in the PCMC area marked World Sparrow Day by launching an initiative to raise awareness about sparrow conservation. In collaboration with Roseland Residency and the Nature Forever Society (NFS), the police took proactive steps to provide a safe habitat for the dwindling sparrow population.

As part of the initiative, the police stations installed nest boxes, feeders, and earthen water pots on their premises, ensuring a steady supply of food, water, and shelter for sparrows. The effort underscores their commitment to wildlife conservation and environmental responsibility.

Senior police officers, including ACP Sachin Hire, ACP Bhaskar Dere, PSI Khade, PI Misal, and PI Mahesh Salvi, extended their full support to the initiative. The event generated enthusiasm among the police staff, as it was the first-of-its-kind conservation effort within the department.
