Pimpri-Chinchwad, May 14, 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has decided to restructure its existing ward committee system and establish 10 regional offices to improve administrative efficiency and provide faster citizen services amid the city’s growing population and expanding geographical limits.

The order has been issued under the signature of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi. As part of the restructuring, each regional office has also been named after historic forts of Maharashtra.

The decision was approved during the municipal corporation meeting held on March 13, 2026, in accordance with Section 29-A of the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act, which provides for the formation of ward committees based on population.
