PCMC to peddle for ‘India Cycles for a change’ initiative on October 1

On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th Birth Anniversary, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will take part in the Ministry of Home and Urban Affairs organized ‘Cycles for change’ initiative. 
According to the information given by the civic body, the event will be held on 1 October and shall be inaugurated at the hands of the mayor of the city, Usha Dhore and will kickstart with a cyclothon starting from Auto cluster, Chinchwad. with a loop covering Kalewadi Phata and ending again at Auto Cluster. As the corporation has restricted public gathering, Joint City Engineer, Shrikant Savane to understand about how the civic body has planned to event that will maintain social distancing amid the growing COVID cases in the city. 

He said, “All the participants will have to keep a distance of at least six meters while cycling. Only those participants will be asked to join who are fit enough after the thermal test conducted by PCMC. We would request only those participants to join who are fit to peddle the route. However, all the parameters would be closely followed to avoid any kind of medical emergency.”
