Pimple Saudagar Set to Get Its Own Police Station, Proposal Sent to State Government
Pimpri-Chinchwad: In a major development for the rapidly growing Pimple Saudagar area, the process to establish an independent police station has gained momentum. The police commissionerate has officially submitted a proposal to the state government, marking significant progress toward fulfilling a long-pending demand of local residents.
This development comes after consistent efforts by MLA Shankar Jagtap and BJP city president Shatrughan (Bapu) Kate. Their sustained follow-up with the administration has played a key role in pushing the proposal forward. Local corporators Anita Kate and Kunda Bhise also actively supported the initiative.
Pimple Saudagar, known as a fast-developing residential and IT hub, has witnessed a sharp rise in population over the past few years. With large housing societies, schools, and commercial establishments, the need for a dedicated police station had become increasingly urgent. Currently, the area depends on nearby police stations, often leading to delays in response during emergencies.
Recognizing these challenges, local representatives raised the issue repeatedly in administrative meetings and at higher levels of governance. Along with the new police station, the proposal also includes the creation of a new administrative division, ‘Zone 4’, to improve overall policing efficiency.

He highlighted that the growing population of Pimple Saudagar made the demand for a separate police station essential. He added that joint efforts with MLA Shankar Jagtap have finally brought this long-awaited proposal closer to reality.
Once approved, the new police station is expected to significantly strengthen the safety network in the area, offering relief and reassurance to residents, especially women, senior citizens, and business owners.
