Pune: Residents of Park Royale Co-operative Housing Society Ltd, a Rahatani-based society, are finding it difficult to cope with the water shortage issue for a long time.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Uday Sabde, Secretary, Park Royale Co-operative Housing Society Ltd said, “Due to water shortage, we have to get water tankers frequently for which lakhs of rupees are spent from our pockets. Despite paying taxes, we still do not get an adequate water supply. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has assured us that our society will get 4 lakh litres of smooth water supply. But instead, we are getting only 3 to 3.1 lakh litre water supply every alternate day. We have already requested the PCMC to solve it as soon as possible.”

Shrikant Savne, Joint City Engineer (Civil), PMC Water Supply Department said, “The water supply is cut every Thursday. Delayed monsoon is also a reason for the water levels reducing in the dam. Hence, we appeal to people to use water judiciously.”

Savne also assured that PCMC will soon find an effective solution to tackle the water shortage issue.
