Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch Apprehends Youth and Minor Accomplice in Vehicle Theft Case, Seizes Assets Valued at Rs 11.80 Lakhs

PUNE: A recent incident has unveiled the diligent efforts of Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch Unit 4, resulting in the arrest of a young individual implicated in a series of two-wheeler thefts. The police operation has successfully led to the recovery of an assortment of 13 stolen two-wheelers and two two-wheeler engines, collectively valued at Rs 11.80 lakh, from the suspect and his cohorts.

The accused engineer has been identified as Akshay, also known as Sonya Kaluram Hulawale. In connection with this case, the police have also apprehended a minor accomplice. Upon initiation of an inquiry, the police meticulously pieced together information regarding the modus operandi employed by the accused in pilfering motorcycles, as well as the subsequent sale of vehicle components and scrap. As a result of these findings, Samsher Ismail Saha, who was engaged in purchasing scrap metal from the stolen two-wheelers, has also been arrested.

Akshay Hulawale, a holder of a mechanical diploma, specialized in the theft of motorcycles, including the iconic RX 100, from various corners of the city, often with the assistance of juvenile partners. The investigation has further disclosed that Akshay was not only involved in altering the motorcycles for resale at inflated prices but also in vending spare parts and engines from certain two-wheelers.

In their illicit activities, Akshay Hulawale and his cohort resorted to concealing the stolen vehicles in an open field, adopting the strategy of changing the number plates to obfuscate identification and evade law enforcement.

The commendable efforts of the police personnel involved in this operation include Narayan Jadhav, Tushar Shete, Prashant Said, Pravin Dale, Sukhdev Gawande, Dhanaji Shinde, Govind Chavan, Mohammad Gaus Rafiq Nadaf, Vasudev Munde, Sunil Gutte, Suresh Jayabhay, Sanjay Gavare, Dada Pawar, Abasaheb Girne, and Rohidas Ade. Their actions were executed under the guidance and leadership of Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police Swapna Gore, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Mane.
