Pimpri Chinchwad, June 23, 2024 — Pimpri Chinchwad experienced heavy rain on Sunday evening, resulting in widespread flooding across the city. The downpour began in the evening and, within just one hour, the city recorded a staggering 114 millimeters of rainfall.

The city had been under cloudy skies all day, with the rain starting late in the evening. The sudden and intense rainfall overwhelmed the drainage systems, leading to flooding in various parts of the city.

Many residents faced power outages and internet service disruptions, affecting both homes and businesses. The power outages caused significant inconvenience, leaving many without electricity and internet connectivity, which in turn led to job disruptions for those working from home.

The Meteorological Department had issued warnings of heavy rain in the ghat areas on Sunday. They have further predicted the possibility of more heavy rain accompanied by lightning in the ghat areas on Monday, June 24. The city of Chinchwad recorded a temperature of 25.9 degrees Celsius during the rainy spell.
