Pimpri Chinchwad police appoins two veteran dog officers in squad

Pune: On September 14, two experienced dogs were appointed to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Force for the safety of the city dwellers.
As per information from the X handle of Pimpri Chinchwad Police, the names of these special police officers are James and Simba.
As per further information, both these dogs have records of outstanding performance while serving in Team K9 of the Pune City Police Force. Pimpri-Chinchwad police welcomed James and Simba with balloon decorations, rangolis and flowers.
Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate was established on August 15, 2018, to prevent crime in the city. Meanwhile, the city has five police commissioners. Each of them tried to get dogs and bombers at their level. But in five years, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate was always given secondary status and ignored. As a result, after an incident, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police had to wait for the teams of the Pune city police.
Meanwhile, in December 2022, Vinay Kumar Choubey took over the post of Commissioner from the then Police Commissioner Ankush Shinde. After that, Choubey seems to have paid special attention to meeting the basic needs of the Pimpri-Chinchwad police force. Recently, the posts of two Deputy Commissioners and four Assistant Commissioners have also been sanctioned for the city.
After that, a dog team has also been activated in the commissionerate two days ago. James and Simba, who have served in the police force, will be of great help in solving serious crimes in the city in the future, as well as preventing crime.
Simba is 8 years old and he is going to showcase bravery in the police force to deal with crimes. James is 5 years old and will be working to handle explosives. Simba has been trained in Rajasthan & James has been trained in Haryana.
In the background of Ganeshotsav, orders have been given by the Director General’s Office to check crowded places in the city with bomb detectors and dog squads.
Accordingly, Simba and James will now have the major responsibility of investigating the suspected location.
