Pimpri Chinchwad Police Crack Down On Illegal Commercial Gas Refilling, Issue Helpline Numbers For Public
Pimpri Chinchwad, March 12, 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have issued strict instructions to take legal action against individuals involved in illegally refilling commercial gas cylinders using domestic LPG cylinders.
Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey directed all police stations and the crime branch under his jurisdiction to monitor and act against such illegal activities. The order comes amid concerns that the ongoing conflict in Gulf countries could potentially affect the supply of domestic LPG cylinders.
Authorities aim to prevent any shortage of cooking gas for households by stopping the illegal transfer of gas from domestic cylinders into commercial cylinders. Police have warned that strict legal action will be taken if such activities are detected.
The police commissioner has also appealed to citizens to report any instances of illegal refilling. Residents can inform the police through the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Control Room by calling 020-27352600, 020-27352500, 9529691966, or by dialing 112.
Officials said all complaints will be promptly investigated and those found violating the rules will face legal action.
