Swift action by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police led to the exposure of an alleged prostitution network being run from a hotel on Alandi–Charholi Road, resulting in the rescue of 17 women and the arrest of six individuals. The operation was carried out by the Dighi Police Station team following a confidential tip-off.

According to Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Patil, who heads the Dighi Police Station, officers received specific information that illegal activities were being conducted at a hotel located near Dehu Phata on the Alandi–Charholi stretch. To verify the information, police deployed a decoy customer. After confirmation, a raid was conducted in the early hours of Tuesday, while another report noted action around 2 pm the same day. The case was formally registered late Tuesday night.

During the raid at Hotel Sai Palace, officers found 17 women in separate rooms. Police stated that most of the rescued women were from outside Maharashtra and were allegedly lured with financial promises before being forced into prostitution.

Six persons have been arrested so far. The detained accused include hotel managers Krishna Suresh Patil (35) and Raj Mohan Shetty (52), along with Sanjay Amin Bawri (25), Sabir Aktar Ali (31), Bharat Dattajay Birajdar (27), and Vikram Hira Vadh (32). Police said Birajdar and Vadh were allegedly caught soliciting customers in exchange for money.

Hotel operator Padmalochan Das, also known as Kalu Sheth, and the hotel owner identified as Gadhve have been named as wanted accused and are currently absconding. Efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest them.

Police Constable Mahesh Bharat Lade (28) filed the complaint at Dighi Police Station under the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissionerate.

Authorities have registered the case under Sections 143(3) (trafficking of a person) and 3(5) (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.

During the operation, officers seized material evidence valued at Rs 51,070. All 17 rescued women have been placed in a rescue home for care and rehabilitation.

Senior Inspector Patil confirmed that further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the network and identify any additional individuals involved. Police continue to pursue the absconding accused as the probe progresses.
