Pimpri-Chinchwad To Host Maharashtra's Largest Festival For The Differently-Abled: 'Purple Jallosh'
All departments must work in coordination to ensure the successful execution of the three-day event Purple Jallosh – The Grand Festival for the Differently-Abled. Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh instructed officials to ensure that differently-abled participants, citizens, representatives, and dignitaries attending the event face no inconvenience. He emphasized increasing participation from differently-abled individuals and social organizations.
The event will be held from January 17 to 19, 2025, by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). It is set to be Maharashtra’s largest festival dedicated to the differently-abled and marks PCMC as the first municipal corporation to organize such a grand celebration. A review meeting regarding the event’s planning and execution was held at Divyang Bhavan, Morwadi, under the leadership of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh.

Key Highlights of the Meeting:
The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, Divyang Bhavan Foundation Managing Director Omprakash Deshmukh, Dr. Rajendra Wable of Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, Principal Shashikant Patil of ITI Morwadi, and other officials and members from social organizations.
The event aims to provide a platform for the differently-abled to showcase their talents and will feature stalls displaying their handcrafted items. Additionally, cultural programs and a special film festival for the differently-abled will be organized. Adequate facilities for the participants will be ensured throughout the festival.
Commissioner Singh reviewed the preparations in detail, highlighting the need for dedicated efforts from officials and volunteers to make the event memorable for all participants.
