Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic police collects fine of ₹ 40,31,600 from violators
Pimpri : The Traffic branch of Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate conducted a special drive from January 9 to 15 against motorists violating traffic rules. Vehicles which had tinted glass, fancy number plates or number plates not complying with the rules have been caught.
Chakan, Bhosari, Talegaon industrial areas, Hinjewadi, Talawade and Chikhali IT Park areas come under the jurisdiction of the Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate. The number of citizens working in the area is also large and therefore, traffic violations happen in large numbers. To curb the violation, the traffic department initiated this drive.
During the campaign, action was taken against 4,853 people and a fine of ₹ 40,31,600 was collected from them. Of which 2831 cases of tinted glass in a four-wheeler and 2022 cases of fancy number plates were fined ₹ 27,43,700 and ₹ 12,87,900 respectively. Henceforth, such actions will be taken under different heads by the Traffic department, so citizens are requested to follow the traffic rules, said police officials.
Satish Mane, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Pimpri Chinchwad said, “We conducted action in Pimpri Chinchwad police commissionerate jurisdiction against people violating RTO rules, having four-wheeler glasses with black film and fancy number plates. We will continue taking the action and would appeal to citizens to follow rules.”
