Pimpri News : PCMC reports 24 H3N2 cases since January

Pimpri-Chinchwad : Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has issued an advisory to citizens regarding the recent surge in influenza A H3N2 cases across the city. According to the latest update, since January 1, 2023, a total of 24 patients have been infected with the virus in the Pimpri Chinchwad area, out of which 20 are within the municipal limits while the remaining four are from outside.

Out of the 24 patients, three had to be admitted to the hospital, and they have recovered and have been discharged from the hospital. Currently, there are no patients admitted to the hospital, but two suspected deaths have been reported. However, no deaths have been confirmed due to H3N2 disease so far.

The municipal corporation has urged citizens not to fear the virus and has advised them to immediately visit the nearest hospital if they experience symptoms such as cold, cough, sore throat, or fever. They have also advised citizens to wash their hands frequently, eat nutritious food, get enough sleep and rest, and drink plenty of water.

In addition, the corporation has recommended the use of healthy foods like lemon, amla, orange, and green leafy vegetables in the diet. Medicines for the disease are available in all hospitals of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, and citizens are advised to avoid going to crowded places and use masks if necessary.
