Pimpri News : PCMC’s fire dept files case against property owners causing fire accidents at Kasarwadi

Kasarwadi: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s fire department has registered a case against the properties responsible for not taking appropriate precautionary measures and leading to fire and damage to properties. The fire accident took place at Kasarwadi on January 31.

A  major fire had broke out at Kasarwadi where Koteshwar Tibers, Shubham Industries and Jai Ganesh tyres / Arihant Engineering had caught fire at 2 am near Max Neuro hospital. After the efforts of 5 hours of Pimpri Chinchwad fire department pressed 14 fire tenders into service to extinguish the fire. 19 patients from Max Neuro hospital were shifted to avoid any casualties.

One of the godowns included a large unauthorized stock of rubber tires which caught fire and thick smoke in the area. There were many patients in the area who were rescued to avoid any further mishap. According to the fire department, a case has been registered against these businesses under Sections 436, 336, 285, 268, 290, 188, 34 of the Indian Penal Code Act 1860.

The Fire department has directed all the businesses of Pimpri Chinchwad city that the “Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Measures for the Protection of Life and Life Act, 2006” is applicable throughout Maharashtra. The owner of the building or the occupier using it shall be fully responsible for making necessary fire prevention arrangements and keeping the systems fully operational.
