Pimpri Political Drama: NCP City President Raises Doubts About Anna Bansode’s Candidacy
In a surprising turn of events in Pimpri’s political landscape, sitting NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) MLA Anna Bansode’s candidacy for the upcoming elections has come under question. Newly appointed city president Yogesh Behl has raised concerns about Bansode’s functioning, indicating a potential shift in the party’s choice of candidate. Behl criticized Bansode for not involving local corporators in decision-making and not being accessible to the public, sparking dissatisfaction among party members.
During a press conference, Behl hinted at the possibility of fielding a new candidate from the constituency. Several names have been suggested for the candidacy, including former corporators Kaluram Pawar and Jitendra Nanaware, as well as former Shiv Sena MLA Gautam Chabukswar. Other aspirants from different parties, like BJP’s Seema Sawale and Chandrakanta Sonkambale from RPI, have also expressed interest in joining NCP for a shot at the seat.
Behl assured that the decision on the candidate will be made after discussions with all stakeholders, and efforts will be made to retain the seat for the NCP.
