Pimpri : Sky sign dept inspectors to face criminal action if unauthorised boards are found in PCMC : Shekhar Singh

The inspectors of the Sky Sign and Licensing Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) may now face criminal action if unauthorised hoardings, bill boards are seen in the twin town. The PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh have ordered the officers in charge to survey the areas and submit a report soon along with photographs before April 28. Singh also informed that if the officers are found guilty, disciplinary and criminal action will be taken against these inspectors. 

The move by PCMC has been taken after the Kiwale incident shook the administration and faced severe criticism from the politicians as well social activists who blamed the civic body for being negligent and lack of control on unauthorised activities. 

434 illegal boards have been found in the city which are illegal. The survey is expected to be completed between the 25th and 28th of April.

The survey report must have a total number of hoardings, approved measurements, location, photographs and actual measurements of the hoardings. These places will be seen by Shekhar Singh and additional commissioner J Wagh, additional commissioner, PCMC.
