Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a historic day as he inaugurated three new Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) in ”Jammu, Bodh Gaya, and Visakhapatnam, along with laying the foundation stones for projects worth ₹13,375 crore.” 

The initiatives include permanent campuses for ”Three Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 20 Kendriya Vidyalayas, and 13 Navodaya schools.”The event was organized at the “Maulana Azad Stadium” in Jammu.

According to reports, PM Modi emphasized the remarkable advancements in education and skill development over the past decade. He said that ”The government’s commitment to investing heavily in modern education for current and future generations.”Modi noted that the last decade witnessed the establishment of numerous schools, colleges, and universities, bringing positive changes to education accessibility.

Among the key projects dedicated to the nation are the permanent campuses for IIT-Bhilai, IIT-Tirupati, IIT-Jammu, IIITDM-Kancheepuram, Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) in Kanpur, and two campuses for the Central Sanskrit University in Uttarakhand’s Devprayag and Agartala, Tripura. 

Additionally, ”20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalayas and 13 Navodaya Vidyalaya buildings were inaugurated across the country.” Prime Minister Modi also virtually inaugurated 24 new academic and residential buildings for IIT-Patna in Bihar.” He celebrated the progress made since the campus’s initial inauguration in 2015 and praised the efforts to enhance educational infrastructure. In Bihar, ”Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other dignitaries attended the virtual ceremony from the Bihar Assembly.”

Furthering the educational upliftment, PM Modi inaugurated the permanent campus of IIM-Bodh Gaya, developed at an estimated cost of over ₹400 crore. He also inaugurated IIT-Bhilai and two new Kendriya Vidyalaya buildings in Chhattisgarh via video-conferencing.

The Prime Minister’s commitment to education was evident as ”He inaugurated the Academic Complex East and Academic Complex West at IIT-Delhi.” The two multi-story complexes, costing ₹260 crore, will significantly contribute to the academic facilities at the prestigious institute.
