Pune News : Wakad Police Arrest Husband for Heinous Murder Of Wife In Thergaon

The Wakad police apprehended the husband responsible for the heinous murder of his wife, following a prolonged period of torment and abuse. The tragic incident unfolded in Thergaon spanning from 2016 until February 18, 2024, when authorities promptly acted to bring the perpetrator to justice.

Identified as Lakhan Parameshwar Jhundre, a 36-year-old resident of Thergaon, the accused was arrested by law enforcement following a complaint lodged by Mayur Sanjay Katle, a 27-year-old resident of Ahmednagar, at the Wakad police station.

The complaint detailed the harrowing ordeal endured by the victim, who suffered both physical and psychological abuse at the hands of her husband, resulting in severe injuries, including a wound on her thigh. Tragically, the victim succumbed to an infection stemming from her injuries while undergoing treatment for a separate skin condition.

In response to the gravity of the situation, the authorities took swift action, taking the accused into custody. Lakhan Jhundre now faces charges under Sections 304 (2) and 498 (A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), as the investigation into the case continues under the diligent scrutiny of law enforcement.
