As part of the preparations, the civic body has successfully completed training for the first two batches of Field Trainers. The sessions included both classroom instruction and practical fieldwork to ensure readiness for the upcoming enumeration process.
The training programme was conducted under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Principal Census Officer Naval Kishore Ram and Additional Commissioner Omprakash Divte, with support from Deputy Commissioner Vijay Landge and the city census office.
Under the initiative, professors and assistant professors from various colleges across Pune have been selected as Field Trainers. Master Trainers conducted intensive three-day sessions, equipping participants with the necessary skills for effective data collection.
Officials said that training for the next batches (Batch 3 and 4) will commence shortly, continuing the phased preparation approach.
The PMC has appealed to citizens to participate actively, emphasizing that the census is a crucial exercise for national planning and development, and requires collective cooperation for its successful implementation.
