The municipal corporation of Pune has made the decision to build the essential infrastructure in the 23 merged villages.

According to Pune municipal commissioner Vikram Kumar, the civic budget includes ₹ 550 crore set aside for these initiatives. An estimated ₹80 crore will be needed to build sewage lines. Additionally, PMC plans to buy land to build better roads.

According to the civic chief, these areas are planned for town planning schemes funded by the central government. Due to the water scarcity in these areas, PMC would prioritize building a water network and incorporating the combined villages into the 24-hour water supply program. To improve the management of solid waste in these areas, the municipal chief will buy additional vehicles.

Even though the PMC hasn’t raised taxes in the civic budget, Vikram Kumar continued, the money from combined villages will help generate extra cash. Better development efforts in these regions will increase the amount of money received from building permit fees.
