During the award ceremony, PM Modi jokingly asked the singer to perform for the audience, stating, “People are tired of listening to me all the time.” The playful banter between the two, captured in a viral video, showcased the prime minister’s humorous side.

Ms. Thakur graciously agreed to sing, prompting PM Modi to humorously respond, “Oh, so you agree that people are tired of listening to me?” The singer clarified that she was agreeing to sing for the audience, leading to a chuckle from the prime minister.

After receiving the award, Maithili Thakur shared a video with PM Modi expressing her happiness about meeting him. The 23-year-old singer has previously received praise from the prime minister for her musical talent, especially for her rendition of a popular Ram bhajan.

The National Creators Awards, held in New Delhi, recognized digital creators across various categories for their impact on social change, environmental sustainability, education, and gaming. The event celebrated 23 winners, including popular creators like Kabita Singh, Ankit Baiyanpuria, Kamiya Jani, and Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps), among others. Over 1.5 lakh nominations and 10 lakh votes were cast to honor the contributions of digital creators.
