In response to technical issues on its website and numerous citizen requests, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has extended the deadline for property tax payments for the financial year 2024-25 by 15 days. Property owners can now avail a discount ranging from 5% to 10% on their payments if made within this extended period.

Extended Civic Facility Center Hours

To facilitate this extension, Civic Facility Centers (CFCs) will operate from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm, including weekends and public holidays, to accommodate property owners’ schedules. The PMC urges property holders to utilize these extended hours for their convenience.

Revenue Collection Targets

The Taxation and Tax Collection Department of PMC, a crucial revenue-generating body with 79 offices—including 15 regional offices and 56 contact offices—aims to meet its revenue targets for the fiscal year 2024-25. There are 1.422 million property holders within the PMC limits. All property holders have been sent their tax payments via the Indian Post Department. Those who have not received their payment notifications can view or download them from the PMC’s Income Tax Department website at propertytax.punecorporation.org.

Technical Issues and Online Payment Options

Due to recent technical difficulties on the PMC’s property tax payment website, many property holders were unable to complete their transactions online. The PMC has acknowledged these issues and the citizens’ calls for an extension. Consequently, the deadline extension ensures that taxpayers can benefit from the available discounts.

To streamline the process, the PMC encourages the use of various online payment methods including NetBanking, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Bharat QR Code, UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe), Post Debit Card, POS Credit Card, EBPP, Mobile Wallet, Amazon Pay, and NEFT-RTGS.

Customer Support

For any property tax-related issues, citizens can contact the PMC’s toll-free number at 1800 1030 222 for assistance.

Dr. Rajendra B. Bhosle, Municipal Commissioner of PMC, stated, “We are committed to ensuring that all property holders can meet their tax obligations with ease. The extended deadline and increased operational hours of our Civic Facility Centers reflect our dedication to serving the citizens of Pune effectively.”

With these measures in place, the PMC aims to achieve its revenue targets while providing maximum convenience to property holders.
