PMC to celebrate Pedestrian Day on Dec 11

Pedestrians have equal access to the road similar to what the motorists have. In order to underline the importance of the pedestrian in public transport, Pune Municipal Corporation has organised Pedestrians’ Day on December 11. With this PMC is the first civic body to organise such an unique initiative in the city. 

PMC has undertaken repairs and constructions of the footpaths, subway renovation for pedestrians, CCTV installation, Zebra crossing and lights, PMC is working on various issues to give a dignified walkway for the pedestrians.

Murlidhar Mohol, mayor of PMC said, “We are working on providing safe walkway for the citizens. We are working.on Street Design guidelines, pedestrians’ resolution, non motorised vehicle committee. With pedestrians’ day we plan to open many avenues for pedestrians dignified walkway as they have prime importance in public transport system.”
