PMRDA Takes Action: Non-Compliance With Notices Leads To Legal Action Hinjawadi And Manjari In PuneÂ
The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has filed criminal cases against owners of unauthorized constructions in the areas of Hinjewadi and Manjari. Earlier, the concerned parties were served notices to halt the unauthorized constructions. However, due to their failure to comply with the notices, PMRDA has taken legal action against two individuals.
On Tuesday (Oct 1), a case was filed at Hinjawadi Police Station against Shrikant Bhanudas Navale, a resident of Hinjawadi, for unauthorized construction at Survey No. 258/1/3/H.P in Hinjawadi, Mulshi Taluka. Similarly, a case was filed at Hadapsar Police Station against Deepali Vijay Bhadale, a resident of Hadapsar, Pune, for illegal construction at Survey No. 153 in Manjari, Haveli Taluka. Despite repeated notices from PMRDA to halt the unauthorized construction, the owners did not comply, leading to cases being filed under Section 54(2) of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, at both Hinjewadi and Hadapsar police stations.
PMRDA has urged property owners within its jurisdiction to seek proper permissions before undertaking any construction work. Ongoing unauthorized constructions should be immediately stopped, or legal action will be taken in accordance with the law. This statement was made by Dr. Deepti Suryavanshi-Patil, Deputy Collector of PMRDA’s Unauthorized Construction Eradication Department. The legal action was taken under the guidance of PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Superintendent of Police and Vigilance Officer Amol Tambe, and executed by Tehsildar Sachin Maske, Ravindra Ranjane, Junior Engineer Ganesh Jadhav, and Vishnudas Awad.

“This is the first time a case has been filed against Shrikant Navale and Deepali Bhadale under this section for unauthorized construction in Hinjewadi and Manjari. According to Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, failure to halt unauthorized construction after notice can result in a penalty of up to three years of imprisonment or a fine of Rs 5,000, or both, ” said Dr. Dnyaneshwar Bhale, Public Relations Officer, PMRDA.
