An autopsy confirms the cause of death as multiple injuries after Anil Mehta reportedly jumped from the sixth floor of his Mumbai residence.

An autopsy report has revealed that actor-model Malaika Arora’s stepfather, Anil Mehta, passed away due to multiple injuries, police sources confirmed. Mehta, aged 62, allegedly jumped from the sixth floor of his residence in Bandra’s Almeida Park area, Mumbai, on the morning of Wednesday, September 11. According to the authorities, he was declared dead before arrival at the hospital.

The autopsy, conducted later that evening, confirmed that the cause of death was multiple injuries sustained from the fall. Mehta had been living at “Ayesha Manor” with his wife and had taken voluntary retirement from the Merchant Navy.

Malaika Arora expressed the family’s grief through a statement on Instagram: “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dear father, Anil Mehta. He was a gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband and our best friend. Our family is in deep shock over this loss and we kindly request privacy during this difficult time.”

According to police sources, Mehta’s ex-wife, Joyce, who had recently started living with him again, informed them that on the morning of the incident, she noticed his slippers in the living room and went looking for him on the balcony, only to discover that he had fallen. She added that Mehta was not suffering from any serious illnesses, though he did have some knee pain
