Power cuts on Dec 1,4: Pune residents plan accordingly
MSEDCL and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation are jointly installing a new monopole tower.
To undertake repair and maintenance work and also, install a new 132 KV high voltage electrical line on Aundh – Ravet BRTS Road, the electrical supply in Shivaji Nagar and Deccan areas will remain shut on December 1 between 6 AM and 1 PM and on December 4 between 6 AM and 8 AM in areas.
Ganeshkhind subdivision is a 132 KV high voltage division that supplies electricity from Ganeshkhind to Chinchwad and Ganeshkhind to Rahatani 132 KV high voltage subdivision.
But both these overhead high-tension wires are causing traffic congestion. To reduce the congestion, these towers would be removed and underground cables would be laid.
To remove the towers, the power supply shall remain off during this period. MSEDCL and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation are jointly installing a new monopole tower. The work of installing the tower will be completed in two phases and hence the 132 KV substation will be kept shut during this work. A total of 32, (including 11 KV and 22 KV) supplying lines will be kept shut during this period to carry out the work on a fast mode. This will keep 28 lines from Shivaji Nagar, and 4 from Kothrud area shut. This power outage will affect 38,300 consumers from Deccan and 8,500 consumers from Deccan and Jangli Maharaj road.
In first phase on December 1, power outage will take place between 6 AM and 1 PM while on December 4 the power outage will take place between 6 AM and 8 Am in Deccan and Shivaji Nagar which includes F C road, Wakdewadi, Model colony, Modibag 1, Range Hills, E square, Gokhale Nagar, Lakaki road, Senapati Bapat road, Hanuman Nagar, Mangalwadi, Vetal Baba chowk, Raj Bhavan, Khairewadi, Ashok Nagar, Yashwant Ghadge nagar, Police Line, Ghole road, Shivaji nagar gaothan, Congress Bhavan, Sawarkar Bhavan, District Court, Kamgar Putala, Mangala talkies, IITM, Castle Royal Tower, Kakade Mall, SSPMS college, Revenue colony, Akashwani, Simla Office, CID Colony, Sancheti Hospital, Laxmi road, Narayan peth, Shaniwar Peth, Sadashiv peth, Chitrashala, Apte road, Shirole road (half side), Jangli Maharaj road, Pulachi wadi, Chatrapati chowk, IMDR college and Ganeshwadi.
