Pt Satish Vyas to perform on April 10 in Prabhatswar
Padmabhushan Pandit C. R. Vyas’s son and disciple of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Padmashree Pandit Satish Vyas world-renowned Santoor Player will be performing on April 10, 2022 in Prabhaswar !
The concert that the fans are eagerly waiting for is the concert of Morning Ragas (Prabhatkaleen) is planned on Sunday on 10 April 2022 at 6:30 am in the open space under the Wisdom Tree (Dnyan Vriskha) in the premises of Gokhale Institute at Deccan Gymkhana.
Featuring ‘Prabhatswar’ concert organized by famous singer Aparna Kelkar and presented by Swanandi Creation with singing, playing and direct interaction of renowned artists. Pandit Satish Vyas will be accompanied by Ojas Adhiya on Tabla. Manjiri Dhamankar will interact with Pandit Vyas. This concert is free for music lovers.
The organization of ‘Prabhatswar’ concert started in March 2019. Famous singer Bhuvanesh Komkali, famous singer of Jaipur-Atrauli family, Pandita Manjiri Asnare-Kelkar, famous Sarangi player of Sikar family from Rajasthan Sabir Sultan Khan, famous singer of Jaipur-Atrauli Singer Pandit Raghunandan Panashikar as well as famous singer Pandita Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, famous Dhrupad singer Pandit Uday Bhawalkar and Pandit Shaunak Abhishekhi have given a brilliant performance.
At the age of 14, Satish Vyas started learning Indian vocal music from his father Pandit C. R. Vyas. But his inclination was towards Santoor playing. Understanding that, Pandit C. R. Vyas requested Padma Vibhushan Pandit Shivkumar Sharma to accept the Satish Vyas as his disciple. As he started vocal lessons from his father and playing Santoor lessons from Shivaji, his Santoor playing became more and more popular.
For more than 30 years now, Pandit Vyas’s concerts have been taking place abroad. He has been honoured with several awards, most recently Vyas received the prestigious Tansen Award from the Madhya Pradesh State Government for his contribution to classical music. He got the opportunity to perform in famous concerts around the world.
