A major fire incident was reported in the early hours of Monday at a commercial building in Ramwadi, Gawthan area on Nagar Road, Pune. The blaze, which started around 1 AM, engulfed six two-wheelers parked outside the building. Thick smoke quickly spread to the upper floors, creating panic among residents and occupants of the building.

According to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials, the fire department received an emergency call and rushed fire tenders to the spot. Firefighters acted swiftly and managed to control the flames before they could spread to the interiors of the commercial premises. Due to the massive smoke, a rescue operation was launched to evacuate people trapped inside the building.

“Nearly 100 people were safely brought out of the building without any injuries. The prompt response from our teams helped avert a major tragedy,” said a fire department official.
