Over 2 lakh property owners in Pune have failed to submit the mandatory PT3 forms, forfeiting their chance to avail a 40% discount on their property tax. Despite repeated extensions, awareness posts, these property owners missed the deadline, which ended on August 15.

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had introduced the 40% discount for self-occupied properties, but only those who submitted the PT3 forms were eligible. With 2 lakh property owners failing to do so, they will now have to pay the full amount of property tax without the discount. Out of 4.5 lakh, only 2.5 lakh availed the 40 percent rebate in the tax.

The PMC had taken measures to encourage submissions, but the response was inadequate. Property owners who missed the deadline are advised to take note of the consequences and make necessary arrangements for future submissions.

The 40% discount was introduced to incentivize property owners to declare their properties as self-occupied, but the lack of response has resulted in significant revenue loss for the PMC.
