Pune | Warje Malwadi, July 14, 2025: An unusual incident unfolded in Warje Malwadi on July 12 when a 3.5-foot rat snake fell from a moving dumper and slithered into a shop dealing in iron and steel.

Around 2:30 PM, the snake entered Nakoda Steels, owned by Jitendra Oswal, causing panic. Oswal quickly alerted his son Rishi Oswal, an animal rescuer, who arrived at the spot with his friend Rohit Chougule, a certified SarpaMitra (snake rescuer).

With the shop filled with metal pipes and bars, the search became challenging. More than 10 tons of material had to be shifted to locate the snake. Curious onlookers gathered outside as the rescue operation continued for nearly four hours.

The team finally found the snake, which was identified as a non-venomous rat snake, and safely released it into a nearby forested area.

The rescuers emphasized the need for calm and timely action during such wildlife encounters in urban areas.
