Pune : 35000 People Perform Yoga At 30 Military Stations Across 10 States

Southern Command undertook a massive outreach and adoption of Yogic practices by all elements across its area through conduct of a Mega Yoga Session in Hybrid Mode through Iyengar Yoga Group on 21 Jun 23 at 30 Military Stations across ten states. 35,000 participants including all ranks and families took part in the session.

Lt Gen Ajai Kumar Singh, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, GOC-in-C, Southern Command in his address on the occasion urged all ranks to reconnect with traditional Indian practices of Yoga & Meditation towards enhancing their inner wellness quotient and reiterated that the soldiers’ journey passes through most of the eight fold paths of Yogic life, in its natural flow experiencing, Yama (Positive/ correct attitude & action), Niyama (discipline & routine), Asana (physical exercise), Pranayam (Active breath during running/ aerobic exercise), Pratyahara (Non attachment due to frequent movement), Dharana (Concentration experienced in firing), which can be the stepping stones to higher levels i.e. Dhyan (Meditation) & Samadhi (Living in the presence). He also inspired the participants to live life with full awareness in the moment to achieve unconditional Joy.


Yoga sessions were also conducted in remote border locations at Laungewala, Tanot, Ghotaru, Kishangarh, Bhuj & Lakhpat in Rajasthan & Gujrat, where uniformed personnel and civil population reaped the benefits Yoga practices to create awareness and strengthen the bond of brotherhood between civil and defense.
