Pune: 58,000 Kilos Of Kindness, Nearly 7 Lakhs Bananas: How One Couple Is Feeding Hope
Pune, October 22, 2025: At dawn, when most of the city is still waking up, a humble scooter weaves through the lanes of Undri. On it rides a couple, Vinaykumar & Priti Shah, from Undri with a simple mission—to spread kindness, two bananas at a time.
For four years, this couple has been a lifeline for those who often go unnoticed—security guards, street sweepers, and people struggling on the roadside. Every morning, they distribute bananas with a smile, a gesture that says, “You matter.” Their commitment is unwavering—they almost never miss a day.

What began as a small act of compassion has grown into an extraordinary movement. To date, they have shared more than 58,000 kilograms of bananas—nearly 700,000 bananas—touching countless lives.
Friends from across India and countries like the US, Canada, Denmark, Germany, the UK, and the Netherlands rally behind this cause. Many choose to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and even solemn occasions like punya tithi by contributing to this effort. Each donation carries a message of love and solidarity.
Even their college and school friends, colleagues from their workplace, and residents of the society where they live have stepped forward to support this mission, contributing generously and spreading the word within their own circles. The initiative has become a shared legacy of compassion and community.

For the couple, this isn’t charity—it’s a calling. Their scooter rides have become a symbol of hope, reminding us that humanity thrives in the simplest acts. In a world often overshadowed by headlines of conflict, their story shines like a quiet sunrise—warm, gentle, and full of promise.
