PUNE: Supriya Sule, Member of Parliament and a senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)has appealed to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to enhance the water supply to the areas of Warje, Kondhwe-Dhawade, Uttamnagar, and Shivane.

She has highlighted that these regions have been receiving inadequate water pressure, and despite repeated attempts to communicate with civic officials, no improvement has been observed.

In a tweet, MP Supriya Sule stated, “The areas of Warje, Ahire, Kondhwa-Dhawade, Uttamnagar, and Shivane, which fall under the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency, are facing a shortage of proper water pressure and adequate water supply. The citizens have also raised numerous complaints regarding the officials responsible for water supply in the area. Despite repeated reminders, the water supply issues have not been resolved. It is imperative to address the water problem of the citizens in this area. I request the Municipal Commissioner to take serious note of the grievances of the citizens.”

One Twitter user expressed, “It is a very challenging situation. For the past several months, we, the 500/600 residents of Varanasi Society, located behind  Warje and Atulnagar, have been left in a state of shock. Representations and requests to senior PMC officials are of no use. Senior officers are passing the buck to junior officers and getting away with it.”

Another user added, “PMC Care is not responding to complaints. There has been no water supply in our area for the past two days. Saibaba Nagar, Lane No 10, Kondhwa.”

While talking to Ganesh Kadam, a Warje resident, stated, “We receive drinking water supply only in the evening hours from 6 pm to 9 pm. Residents are facing difficulties as they have to go down to fill jars and climb back up.”
