Indian Air Force carried out an air display at Air Force Station Lohegaon on Saturday as part of the “Know Your IAF” program. Aimed at fostering awareness about the military potential of the Indian Air Force among the general public, the event also sought to inspire students and youths to consider a career with the IAF.

Thousands of eager spectators gathered at Lohegaon Air Force Station to witness the aerobatic display by the renowned Suryakiran aerobatics team and flying by other aircraft. Flying in formation with a mere 10 meters separation, the flying machines of the IAF left audience breathless.

The thrilling aerial manoeuvres, including loops, barrel rolls and dazzling displays like the barbed wire cross and the quarter clover, left the audience mesmerized. In another manoeuvre, two aircraft from the Suryakiran team painted a gigantic heart in the blue sky with their contrails, while a third aircraft shot through it, adding a touch of cupid’s arrow to the display.

The static display of aircraft, systems, and demonstration by IAF Special Forces ‘Garud’, Akash Ganga Team & Air Warrior Drill Team enthused youngsters and provided a unique opportunity for the visitors to get up close to aircraft, radar and other military equipment.

Air Commodore Shekhar Yadav, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Lohegaon, expressed appreciation for the efforts of the civil administration in extending support to make the event a grand success.
