Pune Airport Achieves Record 200 Daily Flight Movements
Pune-Solapur Flight Service To Launch Soon
Pune, September 16, 2024 – Pune Airport has achieved a significant milestone by recording 200 daily flight movements for the first time, with a balanced count of 100 arrivals and 100 departures on Sunday. Previously, the airport’s daily flight movements had ranged from 185 to 190.
The surge in flight activity is attributed to the introduction of new routes, including services to Goa, Sindhudurg, and Jalgaon. However, airport officials cautioned that this high level of activity may not be sustained daily, as several new flights are not operated every day.
Looking forward, the airport expects continued growth with the onset of the winter schedule starting October 27. The expansion of the new terminal building is anticipated to support this increase in flight volume and potentially facilitate additional international connections. Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, has played a key role in fostering this growth by promoting new flights and improving airport infrastructure.
