Pune: Amanora’s Victory Towers Residents Left Isolated As Decade-Long Access Road Issue Remains Unresolved
Pune, January 14, 2026: Residents of Victory Towers, a residential complex located within Amanora Township in Hadapsar, Pune, are facing renewed hardship due to the absence of a permanent and sanctioned access road—an issue that has persisted for more than a decade despite repeated assurances from authorities.
Victory Towers is part of the Amanora Park Special Integrated Township, Sector 25, which received official approval from the Pune Collector in 2014. Although the project was cleared as a planned township development, residents say basic connectivity infrastructure has never been completed.
Geographically positioned between Manjari Road and the Sade Satra Nali railway crossing, the complex relies entirely on a single railway gate for entry and exit. No alternative route or underpass has been developed so far, leaving residents dependent on this one access point. Over the years, multiple promises were made regarding the construction of an underpass or an additional access road, but none have materialised. There is no confirmed schedule, ongoing work, or clarity on responsibility from the concerned departments.
The situation has worsened after the authorities announced the closure of the railway crossing from January 10 to January 13 for maintenance work. With the only access route shut, residents say they have effectively been cut off from the rest of the township and the city.
A resident said the closure has caused severe disruption to daily life. “Children going to school, senior citizens, and working professionals are being forced to take long and expensive detours. What is normally a short commute now takes much longer and adds to daily stress. More importantly, the lack of access poses a serious risk during medical emergencies, fire incidents, or other critical situations. Despite submitting written requests for temporary or emergency access arrangements, we have not received any official response,” he said.
Even after ten years, families living here are struggling without basic access infrastructure. This prolonged neglect reflects serious lapses in planning and administration. Roads and emergency connectivity are essential services, not optional amenities.
The residents’ umpteen efforts to reach out to the builder, civic authorities have fallen on deaf ears.
Residents have once again urged the authorities to provide immediate temporary access and expedite the development of a permanent road to prevent future disruptions and ensure safety.
