Several cab drivers of Pune, along with the Indian Gig Front Cabs (IGF Cabs) Association, have called for a cab strike on 20th February 2024 (Tuesday).

As per further information shared by Dr Keshav Kshirsagar, President, Indian Gig Front Cabs (IGF Cabs) & Baghtoy Rickshawala Association, several cab companies haven’t implemented the revised cab fares issued by the Pune District Collector.

Companies are doing business without any valid license. But no action is taken against them. Due to this, the cab drivers, whose daily income is in crisis, will stage a strong protest and indefinite strike at RTO Pune from February 20, 2024.

On 12th February, the association has warned that if the revised cab rates aren’t implemented immediately to ensure fair earnings for auto/cab drivers, they will stage a fierce protest soon – https://stage.mypunepulse.com/allow-us-to-run-illegal-cab-business-as-well-pune-cab-drivers-to-stage-fierce-protest-soon/

Also, on several cabs in Pune, posters with the following text had been pasted:

“Allow us to do illegal business too! Without any valid license, cab companies are exploiting poor drivers in the state & getting rich. Officials are silent. Why should the poor drivers follow all the rules?”
