Two guys on a bike and two pedestrians assaulted a chartered accountant from Vikhroli in Mumbai with a wooden stick after his car accidentally splashed water on them while driving through a deep pothole in front of Jan Seva Bank at Keshavnagar in Mundhwa around 5:45 PM on Monday. The police mentioned that the chartered accountant, Yash Manwani (29), is originally from Bhopal and currently lives in Vikhroli.

The victim sustained injuries to his back, waist, left leg, and right hand. He sought treatment at a private hospital in Kharadi after which he filed a complaint with the Mundhwa police.

The police have identified three out of four people who beat the CA. “Based on witness statements, we have identified three of the four attackers. Identity of the fourth person is not known yet.

The CA mentioned, “I was on my way to Keshavnagar to meet my brother and sister for Rakshabandhan. As my vehicle neared the Janaseva Bank, my car hit a deep pothole filled with water, which led to water splashing on the biker duo and pedestrians. Myself, the biker (with a passenger), and the pedestrians were all traveling in the same direction.”

He further stated, “The biker followed my car for a while and angrily kicked the driver’s side, which made me stop. When I rolled down my window to explain that I wasn’t to be blamed, the biker and his passenger started arguing and forced me out of my car. I suggested they go to the nearby Keshavnagar police station, but they refused. By then, the two pedestrians had arrived, and together, the four men verbally abused and physically attacked leaving me injured.”

Manwani stated that the biker grabbed a wooden stick that was lying nearby and hit him on his back and other areas of his body. The biker also damaged the front right door of the car with the stick, he added. After that, the biker and the three others left.

The police arrived too at the spot after receiving the information. Since there is no CCTV in the area, the identity of the attackers could not be established. Fourth man would be nabbed soon.
