Pune: Pune police paraded two men on Sunday after arresting them for public obscenity in Yerwada. The accused, Gaurav Ahuja (25) of NIBM Road, Kondhwa, and his friend Bhagyesh Oswal (25) of Market Yard, were taken to Shastrinagar Chowk, where the incident took place.
Two days ago, a viral video showed Ahuja urinating in the middle of the road at a busy intersection under the influence of alcohol. Oswal was inside the car at the time. After noticing someone filming, Ahuja made an obscene gesture before Oswal drove them away in the BMW.
The video sparked widespread outrage, leading Pune police to register a case under public obscenity laws. Both were arrested and produced in court on Saturday, where Ahuja was remanded to one-day police custody, while Oswal was sent to judicial custody.
On Sunday, after his remand ended, Ahuja was presented before the Pune Sessions Court, which granted police another day of custody.
