Pune Builders, RMC Associations Hold Joint Meeting Over Concrete Price Hike
Pune, May 19, 2026: Amid concerns over the recent increase in Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) prices, a joint meeting was recently held between the Builders Association of India (BAI) Pune Centre and the Pune RMC Association to discuss the impact of rising rates on the construction sector and ongoing infrastructure projects.
The meeting was led by BAI Pune Centre President Ajay Gujar and Pune RMC Association President Pradeep Walhekar. Several office bearers and senior members from both organisations participated in the discussions, including former BAI Vice-President Dr. R. B. Krishnani and former State President Jagannath Jadhav.
During the meeting, Walhekar highlighted the operational and regulatory challenges currently being faced by RMC plant operators and explained the association’s position regarding the price revision.
Ajay Gujar assured continued support from BAI Pune Centre to the RMC industry but urged the association to adopt a balanced and restrained approach towards the recent price hike. Representatives from the builders’ body stated that the increase in RMC rates was affecting the construction industry as well as several ongoing infrastructure projects.
The Pune RMC Association also discussed various industry-related concerns and reiterated its commitment to finding a mutually acceptable solution for all stakeholders involved.
The association further requested BAI Pune Centre to present the industry’s concerns and demands before senior government authorities to help streamline and regulate RMC pricing.
At the conclusion of the meeting, BAI Pune Centre submitted a formal representation on behalf of the construction industry, seeking a review and rationalisation of the recent RMC price hike.
