Pune: Delays in the availability of necessary tools have caused a potential delay in the opening of the Chandani Chowk flyover project in Maharashtra. The project, which was expected to be inaugurated on May 1st by Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, may now face delays due to the non-availability of materials needed for the construction of girders for the bridge.

According to reports, the project is still in progress with some girders left to be concretized on the pillars. However, work on the bridge has come to a halt due to the unavailability of necessary tools. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has clarified that concreting of the remaining girders will begin once the required tools are available.

Meanwhile, the work on the NDA Chowk flyover project and its surrounding roads is reported to be 90% complete, with only the girder and alternative road work remaining. In order to lay the girder, traffic on the road will be closed for two hours, and alternate routes will be provided to commuters.

Similarly, the work on the Mulshi subway has been completed, and the traffic on the road was diverted to an alternative route while the girder was being laid. NHAI has stated that the next course of action will be decided after holding a meeting next week.
