Pune – Crime Branch raids 12 hookah parlours in Kondhwa – Viman Nagar – Koregaon Park

Pune Police raids unauthorised hookah parlours and bars from Hadapsar, Kondhwa & Vimannagar today.

Pune Police have continued its march towards the idea of ‘Zero-tolerance’ against the crime rate in the city. Today, the Pune City Police and the Crime Branch unit carried out a joint operation against the illegal bars and hookah parlours in Hadapsar, Kondhwa and Viman Nagar. The team was led by Deputy Commissioner, Shrinivas Ghadge. Close to, 2 Police Inspectors, 24 assistant police inspectors & a staff of 32 officials from the headquarters and crime branch officials were involved in the operation.

According to the information given by Police Commissioner, Amitabh Gupta, while talking to Pune Pulse, he suggested that upon receiving a tip from a source, the commissioner immediately guided Shrinivas Ghadge to form a team and raid the said areas of Hadapsar, Kondhwa & Viman Nagar. 12 spots were raided and 11 FIRs have been registered against 15 violators. A total of 2 lakh rupees have been recovered from the raid.

While talking to Pune Pulse, Amitabh Gupta said, “There will be no mercy for any kind of illegal and anti-social activities. Hereafter, too, such raids can be expected from our side.”

Sardar Patil, senior Police inspector Kondhwa Police station said, “One hookah parlour was raided in Gokul Nagar Kondhwa. The action was jointly taken with Crime Branch.”

The raid was carried under the guidance of Amitabh Gupta, commissioner, Pune City Police, Dr Ravindra Shisave, joint commissioner of Police, Deputy commissioner of Police Shriniwas Ghadage, 2 Police Inspectors, 24 assistant police inspectors and 32 Police personnel from Crime Branch.
