The conflict arose when Nimhan brought a JCB machine to the area, claiming ownership of a contested private road near the society. Residents confronted the builder, leading to a heated argument. Witnesses said Nimhan responded with physical violence, hitting several people with a baton and hurling vile abuse at women.
The situation remained tense until marshals from the Hinjawadi police station arrived. Their presence helped calm the situation momentarily. However, residents demanded a search of Nimhan’s vehicle, suspecting he had prepared for the assault in advance.
During the search, police found wooden sticks and bats in the trunk of Nimhan’s car. This discovery reinforced residents’ claims that the attack was premeditated. The residents have strongly condemned the builder’s actions, calling for strict legal action.
The police have confirmed that they are in the process of filing a case against Nimhan. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are collecting evidence, including witness statements and video footage, to proceed with legal action.
