In a harrowing incident that transpired at the Spice Factory Restaurant in the Clover Hills Plaza Mall on NIBM Undri road, a volatile situation erupted on August 25th at 15:45 hours. Huzefa Attarwala, a resident of NIBM road society, took swift action by filing an FIR at the Kondhwa Police station after enduring a brutal assault alongside his friend.

The dispute began when Attarwala requested the bill following their meal, which amounted to Rs 2030, inclusive of an additional service charge of Rs 176.50. Seeking to discuss the inclusion of the service charge, Attarwala engaged the hotel staff and urged them to confer with the manager. Shockingly, the situation escalated dramatically as the manager unleashed a barrage of abusive language, targeting Attarwala and Sayyed with derogatory insults.

Verbal exchanges turned physical as the hotel staff adamantly refused Attarwala’s departure without the contested service charge being settled. Matters took a dark turn as the staff physically assaulted Attarwala, inciting his friends, Aniket Pardeshi and Ram Tyagi, to intervene in a bid to defuse the situation. Regrettably, their intervention appeared to provoke the hotel staff further, leading to a violent assault on Attarwala, Tyagi, and Pardeshi, aided by four waiters from the restaurant.

The situation escalated to a horrifying climax as a member of the hotel staff resorted to using a glass bottle and a beer bottle as weapons, brutally striking Attarwala on the head. The consequences were dire, leaving Attarwala with injuries to his hands, neck, legs, and throat. His friends, Ram Tyagi and Aniket Pardeshi, also suffered injuries from the vicious use of sharp objects.

Leading the investigation is Sub-Inspector Ratnadeep Birajdar from the Kondhwa Police station. The case has been registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Sections 307, 141, 143, 144, 147, 352, and 504 of IPC 1860. This incident starkly highlights the necessity for robust conflict resolution mechanisms and heightened security protocols within public establishments.

In the aftermath, the situation escalated to dire proportions as what began as a verbal altercation devolved into a violent clash. Hotel staff resorted to using dangerous objects as weapons against the customer, resulting in severe harm. The targeted customer bore the brunt of this aggression, enduring injuries to the head that were grave enough to require stitches. The aftermath of the assault left the customer in a state of profuse bleeding. This incident underscores the intensity of the confrontation and the alarming employment of perilous objects by the hotel staff as weapons. The injuries inflicted, particularly those to the head, underscore the gravity of the physical assault. Such occurrences underscore the paramount importance of establishing a secure and respectful environment for both patrons and employees. Authorities and management must take decisive measures to forestall such violent incidents, guaranteeing the safety and well-being of all parties involved.

The Kondhwa Police are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the matter to uncover the truth behind this distressing incident.
