Several residents of Keshav Nagar societies like Prestige Gold etc are troubled as a patch between Manjari Road to Renuka Mata Mandir has been dug up, making it difficult to commute.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Sushant Garje, Resident of Prestige Gold, Keshav Nagar, said “This road was made in a good condition some 1 to 1.5 months ago. However, a patch on the road has been dug up again, near Vihana society, due to which the space has become so narrow that only one side of the road is open for vehicle commuting. Pedestrians have no space to walk whenever a vehicle passes. At the same time, work on 2 construction sites is going on nearby. So, huge trucks & other heavy vehicles move daily on this road. Complaints have been raised on the PMC portal; they are left as it is with ‘In Progress’ status.”

Vaibhav Gawande, Resident of Prestige Gold, Keshav Nagar, said “Some time ago, the road was dug up to put a pipeline, most probably drainage pipeline. Also, the road was repaired. However, it has been dug up again. We don’t know when the road will be repaired, only patch work is going on. Also, the issue of potholes is there. Hence, a complete traffic jam is happening. So, if the road work happens in one go, why does the road need to be dug up again?”

Sagar Pathrikar, Resident of Prestige Gold, Keshav Nagar, said “The work of the road near Vihana society has been completed. However, the same patch has been dug up again as the PMC is saying that they have not put in a pipeline. Also, the Manjari Road is not in good condition as patch work has happened at several places. Traffic from several places like Mundhwa Bridge etc keeps coming to this road. Encroachments are also there. When the road work was done some months ago, people were very happy. However, the road has been dug up again. It is simply a waste of public money.”

Rahul Sapkal, Engineer, PMC, said “A water pipeline is being installed under the road. Hence, the road had to be dug up again. The work will be done till tomorrow.”
