The Directorate General Of Defence Estates (DGDE) has announced plans to conduct a comprehensive land survey across 19 cantonments, emphasizing the significance of integrating them within municipal corporation limits.

Situated in Pune, Khadki, Dehu Road, Bhingar in Ahmednagar, Deolali in Nashik, and Kamptee in Nagpur, these cantonments will undergo meticulous measurement processes to ensure their alignment with municipal boundaries.

Under the leadership of the Additional Director General of the Survey Department within the DGDE office, a special one-day session was held with chief executive officers of the cantonments and seven defence estate officers operating under the Southern Command’s jurisdiction.

Basically, in Khadki and Pune, there are many areas of land that are empty and not fenced. Even though some of these lands are worth a lot of money, they are still not protected by fences. After examining the situation, the Defense Estate Officials and Local Military Authorities will focus on putting up fences around these plots to prevent others from taking over the land illegally.
