Pune: Dr Vijay Suryavanshi Takes Charge As Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner
Pimpri, March 16, 2026: Dr Vijay Namdev Suryavanshi on Monday assumed charge as the Municipal Commissioner of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). He took over the responsibility from outgoing commissioner Shravan Hardikar at the civic headquarters in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The occasion was attended by Ravi Landge, Mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad, Standing Committee Chairman Abhishek Barne, outgoing commissioner Shravan Hardikar, along with corporators Sandeep Kaspate and Babasaheb Tribhuvan, as well as other elected representatives, civic officials and staff members who welcomed the new commissioner.
Following the charge handover, discussions were held between the mayor, the outgoing commissioner and Dr Suryavanshi regarding ongoing development projects, civic services and administrative priorities in the city. The meeting focused on maintaining the momentum of key infrastructure projects, improving the quality of services provided to citizens, and ensuring more efficient and responsive municipal administration.
After assuming office, Dr Suryavanshi reviewed the functioning of various departments of the municipal corporation. He expressed his commitment to working in coordination with the civic administration to accelerate development initiatives and enhance public services in the city.
