Pune : Drunken Driver’s Reckless Driving Leads To Near Fatal Accident On Sinhagad Road 

A harrowing incident unfolded near the National Jal Academy (National Water Academy) Gate on Sinhagad road, as a car driven by an inebriated individual veered out of control, narrowly avoiding a fatal collision. Eyewitnesses recounted the terrifying moment when the vehicle crossed the divider and careened into oncoming traffic.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities, though several two-wheeler riders traveling towards Khadakwasla had close calls. The car’s excessive speed compounded the danger of the situation, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

The incident occurred around 9:00 AM when the intoxicated passengers were en route to Pune from Khadakwasla dam. Despite efforts to maintain control, the driver’s impairment led to the collision with the divider, endangering lives on both sides of the road.

Following the accident, authorities temporarily blocked traffic at Dam Chowk, recognizing the urgency to address the issue of drunk driving. Many speculate that with stricter measures in place, such incidents could be prevented, emphasizing the importance of proactive enforcement to safeguard road users.
